With construction commencing in 2019, the project is expected to enhance Saudi’s GDP by $5.86 billion annually post-2030. By then, there should be 50 hotels, over 1,000 residences across 22 islands and six inland sites. The plan is to avoid over-tourism by capping visitors at one million annually.
